Bottle Cap Pincushions

Recently I've been making these adorable bottle cap pincushions, inspired by Jen Segrest. CLICK HERE to visit her fantastic Flickr page, which even has tutorials on how to make your own!

I've been giving these to friends and family (I have no plans to sell them). A word of warning: There is no way to make just one of these little sweeties -- they're highly addictive!

Thanks, Jen, for sharing your tutorials!

  1. I've seen some made using the caps from liquid laundry detergent. For the ones I've seen they didn't cover the cap, just made the pin cushion to fit down inside the cap and glued it in place. Super cute and useful way to recycle.

  2. I can see using a lot of "trash" to make pincushions! It's cool because now I look at everything I throw away (or recycle) with a new eye. I used to get mad at Ted (my husband) for saving "good stuff" from the trash, and now I understand him. EXCEPT that he wasn't using his "good stuff" for crafting!

I like these little bottle cap pincushions because they're just so small and quick to make. I think everyone should make one (or two or a hundred!).

  3. These are just so cute! I will need to get some felt and bottle caps to put a few together as gifts. The design possibilties of pincushions is unlimited.
